Meet our Teaching Staff

Jennifer Lorek - 3 and 4 year old classes

I began teaching at FPP in 1997 after my fourth child graduated from the school. (That means I have now been associated with the preschool for 13 straight years.) I have enjoyed the opportunity to be "three" for a really long time! When I am not teaching at the preschool, I substitute for the Fairview Park and Olmsted Falls school districts. Needless to say, most of my life is spent with children.

My husband, John, and I have lived in Fairview Park for 18 years. Our kids, Mason, Dakota, Brady, and Canaan, are scattered between the 7th and 12th grade. They all love sports and play whatever game is in season. As a result, much of our "free time" is spent in the car traveling to and from events.

Meet our Board of Trustees

Fairview Park Preschool is governed by a Board of Trustees which consists of the teachers and seven (7) officers elected from among parents whose children are currently attending the preschool.

Officers for the upcoming school year are elected by parents present at the February general membership meeting. The officer positions are President, First Vice-President, Second Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, Registrar and Hospitality.

Not all positions have been filled for the 2006-2007 year. If you are interested in one of the open board positions, please contact Karey Infante or one of the other board members.

President

The president is responsible for supervising the general business operation of the school with ratification by the Board. The president presides over all board and general membership meetings, and is responsible for meeting with others as necessary to resolve issues. The president is also responsible for negotiating and signing contracts on behalf of the school.

Karey Infante is the president for the 2006-2007 school year. This is Karey’s second year with the preschool, as well as her second year on the board. Karey lives in Fairview Park with her husband, Gregg, and their two children, Malina and Sam. Malina is a student in the four year old class. Outside of the preschool, Karey works part-time as a pharmacist in the Cancer Care Center at MetroHealth Medical Center.

First Vice-President

The first vice-president assists the president, and assumes the duties of president in his/her absence. The first vice-president is responsible for coordinating all fundraising efforts by the school, and chairing the Ways and Means committee.

Second Vice-President

The second vice-president is responsible for organizing and implementing all publicity for the school, regardless of event.

Secretary

The secretary assumes all typing responsibilities for the school. The secretary keeps minutes for board and general membership meetings, and maintains a record of all past and present business of the school for five (5) years. The secretary is also in charge of preparing and distributing a monthly newsletter to the general membership.

Treasurer

The treasurer is the custodian of all funds for the school, and pays all expenses. The treasurer monitors the financial condition of the school and reports back to the Board of Trustees and general membership. The treasurer also keeps and maintains all financial records on behalf of the school, and prepares annual financial statements and operating budgets.

Mary McClintock is Treasurer for 2006-2007. This is her third year as Treasurer, and her fifth as a member of the school. Her son, Ian, is in the 4's, and her older two sons also graduated from the school in 2003 and 2005. She lives in Cleveland with her husband, Mike. When Mary isn't wrangling numbers for the school, she's a faculty member at Cuyahoga Community College where she's a Reference and Instruction Librarian.

Registrar

The registrar keeps and maintains all student records, and is responsible for taking calls from prospective members and arranging classroom visits. The registrar also maintains and updates the waitlist, student rosters and any forms needed for enrollment.

Hospitality

Hospitality chairs the Hospitality committee, and as such, is responsible for arranging set-up, refreshments and greeters for membership meetings, special events and fundraisers. Hospitality ensures that the classrooms and toys are cleaned, and monitors parent-donated cleaning supplies and play-doh. Hospitality also sends cards and gifts as requested by the Board.
